Estate Planning
Estate Plans vary greatly from person to person. Young families may wish to
nominate a guardian to care for their children in the event of their untimely death. An
aging couple may wish to plan for their incapacity and name trusted individuals to
help them make decisions at such time. Single individuals may not like the default
rules Minnesota law provides. Individuals and couples (married or otherwise) may
have specific goals in mind as to how their adolescent and adult children should use
assets left to them. Remarriage or blended families may create the desire to provide
for more than one category of loved ones (spouse and children from a previous
relationship).
